Separated at Birth?
winter too
So, I was watching a favorite movie over the holiday weekend, and realized something. These two fellows bear a rather uncanny resemblance to one another:

Separated at birth?

I suspect most of you can ID Mr. On-The-Right. How many of you can tell me who
Mr. On-The-Left is?

Hint 1: He's Canadian!
Hint 2: He starred in a very famous film which was shown on US network TV last weekend.

If you still have no idea, look behind the cut for another separated-at-birth photo of these two, showing Mr. On The Left in a scene from that very famous movie. :)

That's a (very young) Christopher Plummer :-)

Though I have no idea who the guy on the right is ;-/

You win the gold star! That is indeed a (very young) Christopher Plummer.

And, hee! I see you're an old-timer like me. ;D The guy on the right is Michael Fassbender.

I see you're an old-timer like me.

Older timer, that's me!

I've heard the name, but I can't link him with anything I've read about :-(

He was in X-Men First Class as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto. XMFC is a VERY slashy flick, btw. ;)

Ah! That's why...
I'm afraid I was never into comics. Well, not those, to be precise.

Calvin & Hobbes are another thing entirely!

Okay, thanks for the second clue, as I have no idea what aired on the USA network last week. :) (We have a channel called 5USA, but that's the closest we get here. :)

Strangely enough, I know Michael Fassbender better as Mr. Rochester than his role in X-Men.

Yeah, I realized that was a USA-ist thing to say!

I was late to the Fassbender parade, I think. Though he was in Band of Brothers which I saw a long time before XMFC, there were just too many good actors in that to really pick out a single one.

Oh, and I didn't mean the USA network- I just meant *a* US network, as opposed to a cable channel. :)
